Our old barbecue

Our barbecue died on Sunday night.  No propane came out of the one side of the burner.  I called around yesterday looking for a replacement barbecue as the old Space Maker is nine years old and has seen some harsh winters and summers.

After seeing on for $80 at Wal-Mart that was nicer than our old one, Jordon decided he didn't want it and instead we bought some new parts to see if that would work.  After some work, WD-40 and some degreasing, our old barbecue works as good as new.  The reason why Jordon didn't want a new one?  It was the first big purchase that we made in our marriage and he didn't want to say goodbye to it yet.  Who would have known that Mr. Undeveloped Feeler would have a feeling (he only has one) for our barbecue?

One observation.  One year ago we bought some of those ceramic tiles for the barbecue and while they worked, about 50 percent of them broke when I tried to carefully take it out of the barbecue.  We replaced them with some ceramic rocks instead.  So while the tiles are supposed to last longer, it is only if you don't touch them.
