Cheesesteak Pizza Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teas) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 tbs honey
  • 2 1/4 – 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teas salt
  • 1/2 teas garlic powder
  • 1 teas oregano flakes
  • 2 tbs olive oil, divided, plus more for greasing the bowl
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 1/2 green pepper, sliced
  • 2 round cheesesteak patties 
  • 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbs steak sauce
  • 1 jar Classico White Pizza Sauce 
  • 6 to 8 slices provolone cheese

Preparation

  1. Add the honey and yeast to the water and stir to combine. Let stand for 7 to 10 minutes, while the yeast gets foamy.
  2. Whisk the flour, salt, garlic powder, and oregano flakes in a large bowl. Make a little hole in the middle and pour in the yeast mix and 1 tbs olive oil. Stir to combine. Knead with your stand mixer or by hand until the dough forms a ball. Knead for 10 minutes. Turn out and form into a tight ball.
  3. Place dough into a well greased bowl. Top with greased plastic wrap and let sit until doubled in size, about 1 hour, in a dry warm spot. (I set the bowl on top of my oven as it preheats or in the microwave depending on how warm my house is).
  4. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees for at least 40 minutes before cooking. Slide a rack to the bottom-most slot.
  5. Preheat a skillet over medium high heat. Add the remaining 1 tbs olive oil and swirl to coat pan. Sautee the onion and pepper for 5 to 7 minutes until soft. Push the veggies off to the side and add the steak patties. Cook according to directions seasoning with Worcestershire and steak sauce. Remove from heat.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and divide into 2 parts. Roll one at a time into a 1/8? round disk, sprinkling with more flour if needed to keep from sticking. If the dough pulls pack while rolling and doesn’t seem to want to create a disk, let it sit 5 minutes longer.
  7. Slide the pizza dough onto parchment paper. Spoon the white sauce over the pizza, leaving 1/2 border for the edges, sprinkle half of the peppers, onions, and steak meat over top. Tear the provolone slices in half and place on top as well. Using the parchment paper, transfer the pizza to your baking sheet, or preheated pizza stone in the oven and bake for 10-13 minutes until edges are golden brown and cheese is browning. Carefully, remove the pizza from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
  8. Repeat with remaining dough and ingredients.

Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh garlic
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh basil
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 (28-ounce) can plum tomatoes, coarsely crushed
  • 1 tablespoon dry red wine
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 pound mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 8 ounces pepperoni, thinly sliced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, wiped clean and thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, cored and cut into thin rings
  • 1 yellow onion, cut into thin rings
  • 1 cup thinly sliced black olives
  • 1 pound crumbled hot Italian sausage
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan
Chicago-style Deep Dish Pizza Dough:
  • 11/2 cups warm water (about 110 degrees F)
  • 1 (1/4-ounce) packages active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup semolina flour
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil, plus 2 teaspoons to grease bowl
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Directions
  1. While the dough is rising, make the tomato sauce. In a medium saucepan, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds. Add the herbs, seeds, salt, and black and red peppers, and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds. Add the tomatoes, wine and sugar, and bring to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until thickened, 20 to 30 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool completely before using.
  2. Preheat the oven to 475 degrees F.
  3. Oil 2 seasoned 12-inch round deep-dish pizza pans with the extra-virgin olive oil. Press 1 piece of dough into each pan, pressing to the edge and stretching about 1 1/2 inches up the sides. Let rest for 5 minutes.
  4. Layer the mozzarella cheese all over the bottom of the pies. Top each with half of the pepperoni, mushrooms, bell pepper rings, onions, black olives and sausage. Ladle the sauce evenly over each pizza and top with Parmesan.
  5. Bake until the top is golden and the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden brown, about 30 minutes. Remove from the oven, slice and serve hot.
Dough Recipe
  1. In a large bowl, combine the water, yeast, and sugar and stir to combine. Let sit until the mixture is foamy, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add 1 1/2 cups of the flour, the semolina, 1/2 cup of the oil, and the salt, mixing by hand until it is all incorporated and the mixture is smooth. Continue adding the flour, 1/4 cup at a time, working the dough after each addition, until all the flour is incorporated but the dough is still slightly sticky.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth but still slightly tacky, 3 to 5 minutes. Oil a large mixing bowl with the remaining 2 teaspoons oil.
  4. Place the dough in the bowl and turn to oil all sides. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and set in a warm, draft-free place until nearly doubled in size, 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
  5. Divide into 2 equal portions and use as directed.

Alaska Seafood Pizza Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pk Pizza crust mix (or make your own)
  • 3/4 c Crab meat
  • 3/4 c Tiny shrimp
  • 1/2 c Crushed pineapple
  • 5 Mushrooms -- sliced
  • 4 1/4 oz Canned sliced black olives
  • 1/4 c Diced green pepper
  • 1 c Mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 1 c White cheddar cheese grated

Directions

  1. Spread pizza dough on to a pizza pan. Top with crab, shrimp, pineapple, mushrooms, olives, green pepper, mozzarella and cheddar cheese. 
  2. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 30 minutes.

Chicken Salsa Pizza Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pre baked Italian bread shell crust
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 jar (11 ounces) salsa
  • 1 cup cubed cooked chicken

Direction

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
  2. Place bread shell on an ungreased 12 inch pizza pan.
  3. Sprinkle with 3/4 cup cheese.
  4. Top with the salsa, chicken, and remaining cheese.  Bake at 450 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until cheese is bubbly.

Mini Deep Dish Pizza Recipe

Ingredients

  • ½ Olive oil, for muffin pan
  • ½ All-purpose flour, for rolling
  • 1 lb homemade or store-bought pizza dough, in 6 pieces
  • Coarse salt and ground pepper
  • shredded mozzarella (4 ounces)
  • large tomato, coarsely chopped
  • Desired toppings, such as cooked vegetables, pineapple and ham, or pepperoni

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Lightly brush 6 standard muffin cups with oil. On a lightly floured work surface, roll out each dough piece to a 6-inch round. Fill each cup with 1 round, gently pressing dough into bottom and sides of cup. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Sprinkle each dough cup with 1 tablespoon each cheese and tomato. Add desired toppings and another tablespoon each cheese and tomato. Bake until dough is golden brown and crisp, 12 minutes. Let cool 2 minutes before removing from cups.

Cheeseburger Pizza Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pizza crust (or make your own)
  • 1/2 lb extra-lean (at least 90%) ground beef
  • 1 cup tomato pasta sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion, if desired
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 oz)
  • 1/4 cup dill pickle slices

Directions

  1. Make (or use pre made pizza crust)
  2. In 8-inch skillet, cook beef over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until thoroughly cooked; drain. Spread pasta sauce evenly over dough. Top with beef, onion and cheese.
  3. Bake classic crust 12 to 18 minutes, bake thin crust 8 to 12 minutes, or until edges are golden brown and cheese is bubbly. Top pizza with pickle slices. Cut into 4 servings.

Breakfast Pizza Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 10 inch (25 cm) focaccia, flat bread or baked pizza base 
  • 8 eggs
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) yogurt or sour cream
  • 1/4 tsp (1 mL) salt
  • 1/4 tsp (1 mL) pepper
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) each chopped fresh dill, chives and parsley
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) butter or olive oil
  • 6 oz (175 g) thinly sliced smoked salmon
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper, coarsely chopped fresh chives, green onions or dill

Directions

  1. If focaccia is thicker than 1 inch (2.5 cm), cut it in half horizontally. Freeze second half for another use. Warm focaccia in a preheated 350 F(180 C) oven for about 10 minutes. In a large bowl, whisk eggs with yogurt, salt, pepper and herbs until just mixed. In a large non stick skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add eggs; stir gently as they cook so that curds form but mixture is still moist. Spoon eggs on top of warm focaccia. Loosely drape slices of smoked salmon over eggs. Sprinkle with pepper and chives. Serve in wedges.

Ingredients

  • 1-1/4 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon canola oil
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 can (15 ounces) pizza sauce
  • 1 cup chopped pepperoni
  • 1 cup chopped fresh tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup cooked Italian sausage
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

Directions

  1. In a large saucepan, saute mushrooms and onion in oil for 2-3 minutes or until tender. Add the water, pizza sauce, pepperoni, tomatoes, sausage and Italian seasoning. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Before serving, stir in Parmesan cheese. Garnish with mozzarella cheese. 

Yield: 4 servings.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 1 1/4 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 can (15 ounces) pizza sauce
  • 1 cup chopped pepperoni
  • 1 cup chopped seeded fresh tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup cooked Italian sausage
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.  Add mushroom and onion and sauté until tender, about 3 minutes.
  2. Add 2 cups water, pizza sauce, pepperoni, tomatoes, sausage, and Italian seasoning.  
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer, stirring, occasionally, 20 minutes. 
  4. Before serving, stir in Parmesan.  Garnish with mozzarella.

Yield: 4 servings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pizza crust
  • 3 to 4 large potatoes
  • salt
  • pepper
  • garlic powder
  • parsley flakes
  • dried red chili pepper
  • paprika
  • 1/3 cup pizza sauce
  • mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 5 slices cooked crisp bacon
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 -2 green onion, chopped

Directions

  1. Thinly slice potatoes and place, over lapping, on a greased baking sheet. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, parsley, dried red chilies and paprika. Bake for 20-30 minutes at 350°F.
  2. Spread a very thin layer of tomato sauce on crust and sprinkle with mozzarella (not as much sauce or cheese as on a regular pizza or it will overpower the potatoes) Carefully spread sour cream on top of sauce/cheese.
  3. Place baked potato slices on top and sprinkle with broken up bacon and then onions.
  4. Bake at 425°F for 15-20 minutes. Take pizza out and sprinkle cheddar cheese and chopped green onions.
  5. Turn oven off and put pizza back in for about 5 minutes to melt the cheddar.

Taco Bell Mexican Pizza Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon diced minced onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder ( Spanish is best)
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 8 flour tortillas ( 6 "inch")
  • 1 cup cooking oil
  • 1 (16 ounce) cans refried beans
  • 1/3 cup diced tomato
  • 2/3 cup mild picante sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded monterey jack cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onion
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives

Directions

  1. Cook the ground beef over medium heat until brown, then drain.
  2. Return meat to pan and add the salt, onions, paprika, chili powder and water.
  3. Let mixture simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring often.
  4. Heat oil in frying pan over medium-high heat.
  5. When oil is hot, fry each tortilla for about 30-45 seconds per side and drain on paper towels.
  6. Be sure to pop any bubbles that form when frying so that the tortilla lays flat in the oil.
  7. Tortillas should become golden brown.
  8. Heat refried beans.
  9. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  10. Stack each pizza by first spreading 1/3 C beans on one tortilla.
  11. Next add 1/3 C meat, then another tortilla.
  12. Top the second tortilla with 2 T of salsa.
  13. Divide the tomato, cheese, onions and olives evenly and top in that order.
  14. Bake for 8-12 minutes.

Camper’s Pizza Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3/4 pound ground beef (80% lean)
  • 1 Medium onion; chopped
  • 8 oz Refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 8 oz Pizza sauce
  • 4 oz Mushroom stems and pieces; diced
  • 2 1/4 oz Sliced pitted ripe olives; diced
  • 1/3 c Green bell pepper; coarsely
  • 1 c Mozzarella cheese; shredded
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves

Directions

  1. Brown ground beef and onion in well-seasoned 11 to 12-inch cast iron skillet over medium coals. Remove to paper towels to drain. Potir off drippings from pan. Separate crescent (tough into triangles; place in skillet, points toward center, to form circle. Press edges together to form bottom crust about 1 inch up the side of pan. Spread half of pizza sauce.
  2. Spoon ground beef mixture over sauce. Cover with mushrooms, olives and green pepper. Pour remaining sauce over all; sprinkle with cheese and oregano. Place pan in center of grid over medium coals. Place cover on cooker: cook 20 to 30 minutes or until crust is lightly browned. (If cooked over open grill or coals, cover pan securely with foil.)

Curry Pizza Appetizers Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 package of English muffins
  • 1 cup of black olives, chopped
  • 1/2  cup of Green onions, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cup of Sharp cheddar cheese, Grated
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Curry powder

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Split muffins and lay in a single layer on baking sheet. Mix remaining ingredients and spread on muffin halves. Bake in preheated oven for about 15 minutes until spread is hot and bubbly. Cut each half into fourth or sixths and serve.

Homemade Pizza Dough Recipe

Better Crockers 40th Anniversary Cookbook I have been working on the right pizza dough recipe for years and a couple of years ago I adapted a recipes from Better Crocker’s 40th Anniversary Cookbook that is for traditional white bread.  After tinkering with it for several months, the family declared that I had found the right combination.  

Ingredients
  • 6-7 cups of unbleached all purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 2 packages regular or quick-acting active dry yeast
  • 2 1/4 cups very warm water (120 to 130 degrees F.)
Directions
  1. Mix 3 1/2 cups of the flour, the sugar, salt, shortening and yeast in a  large bowl.  Add warm water.  Beat on low speed 1 minute, scraping bowl frequently.  Beat on medium speed 1 minute, scraping bowl frequently.  Stir in remaining flour, 1 cup at a time, making dough easy to handle.
  2. Knead for 5 minutes. 
  3. Place tablespoon of cooking oil in bottom of large bowl.  Place dough in and flip over.  Let rise for 1 hour.
  4. After an hour, punch down, divide into three equal parts and roll out for pizza dough.
  5. Dough will make three pizzas (depending on how thick you want your crust.
  6. Sprinkle teaspoon of corn meal in on pizza pan before putting dough on pizza stone or pizza pan.
  7. Place pizza sauce, desired toppings, and cheese.
  8. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. (and if using pizza stone, preheat stone)  Cook for 10-12 minutes, depending on thickness of dough and toppings.

Alaska Seafood Pizza Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1  pk pizza crust mix (or make your own)
  • 3/4 c Crab meat
  • 3/4  c Tiny shrimp

Pizza Hut Bread Sticks Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups warm water
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 3 tablespoons powdered milk
  • 2 teaspoons yeast

Topping

  • 2 tablespoons dry parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic salt
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Directions

  1. Add the dough ingredients to the bread machine in the order given, and set to first rise. When this has finished, roll the dough out into a rectangle which is 1/2-3/4 inch thick. With a pizza cutter, cut the dough into 1x4 inch strips.
  2. Place on greased cookie sheets and allow the bread sticks to rise until doubled. Meanwhile, stir the topping seasonings together with the parmesan cheese.
    Brush the breadsticks heavily with olive oil. Sprinkle with the topping. I use an empty spice bottle to shake it on evenly.  Bake the bread sticks at 350As°F for 12 to 15 minutes until golden. Serve warm with Dipping Sauce. SERVES 12

Pizza Dipping Sauce Recipes

Special Garlic Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup margarine spread
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions

  1. Combine ingredients in a small bowl.
  2. Microwave on 1/2 power for 20 seconds. Stir.


Makes 1/2 cup.

Cheese Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup Cheez Whiz
  • 2 teaspoon juice from canned jalapenos (nacho slices)

Directions

  1. Combine cornstarch with milk in a small bowl and stir until cornstarch has dissolved.
  2. Add Cheez Whiz and stir to combine. Microwave on high for 1 minute, then stir until smooth.
  3. Add juice from jalapenos slices, and stir.

Makes 1/2 cup.

Pizza Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 10 3/4-ounce can of tomato puree
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/8 teaspoon basil
  • 1/8 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions

  1. Combine ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. Makes 1 cup.

Cheeseburger Pizza Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 pk 7 1/2 oz pkg refrigerated biscuits
  • 3/4 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 c  chopped onion
  • 1 cn 11 oz condensed Cheddar Cheese soup/sauce
  • 2 ts prepared mustard
  • 1/8 ts hot pepper sauce
  • 1 cn (8 oz) tomatoes,drained and chopped
  • 2 tb sliced scallions
  • 1/2 c  shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

  1. Pat biscuits into a 12″ round greased baking sheet or pizza pan.
  2. Bake @ 400  degrees for 10 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile,cook and stir beef and onion in a skillet until beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain off fat. Stir in soup, mustard and hot pepper sauce.
  4. Heat through. Spread beef mixture over biscuits to within 1/2″ of the edge. Top with remaining ingredients.
  5. Bake 5 minutes more or until biscuits are golden brown.Garnish with sliced pitted ripe olives and dill pickle chips, if desired. Cut into wedges and serve. Makes 6 servings.

Crunchy Mini Crab Cakes Recipe

Ingredients

  • 8 soda crackers, finely crushed
  • 2 cans (120 g each) canned crabmeat, drained
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) finely chopped green onions
  • 4 tsp (20 mL) light mayonnaise 
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) hot pepper sauce
  • 1/4 tsp (1 mL) Worcestershire sauce 
  • 1/4 tsp (1 mL) dried oregano leaves
  • 1/4 tsp (1 mL) grated lemon rind
  • 1/3 cup (75 mL) corn flake crumbs
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

    1. In large bowl, combine crackers, crabmeat, egg, onion, mayonnaise, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, oregano and lemon rind. Divide mixture into 12 portions and pat into small patties, about 2-inch (5 cm) rounds; set aside.
    2. In large, shallow dish combine corn flake crumbs and cheese. Coat all sides of patties in crumb mixture. Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 400°F (200°C) 8 minutes, turn and cook 8-10 minutes longer or until crumbs are golden brown. Makes 12 mini crab cakes.

    Serve warm with heated pizza sauce for dipping.
